Update on COVID-19

A word from our President

As you are aware, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation is ongoing, changing all our daily lives and the operations of many businesses, schools and workplaces. While there is a great deal of uncertainty, I want you to know that the health and well-being of our staff and customers is of the utmost importance at Artisan Farms. We are continually monitoring the information from the Health authorities and implementing at or exceeding the published guidelines.

Since COVID-19 emerged in the spring of 2020, we have been following closely the guidance from Health Canada as well as provincial and local authorities, and as a result, the protocols below have been instituted. We have always practiced very strict hygiene protocols above what is required by CFIA, as a matter of practice. As an essential service, we have remained open for orders and shipments, but our offices & facilities are subject to very strict entry protocols to all outside contractors & visitors.

To all our customers, Thank you for your understanding and patience as we continue to work daily at providing Canadians with safe food options. I also want to thank our employees for their dedication and endless support of our mission at Artisan, and the sacrifices you make daily to do so, so thank you very much.

Health and Safety First

  • Our office facilities will be cleaned with increased frequency, and all entry and exits will be sterilized hourly. All employees must sanitize hands each & every time they enter the building, and masks must be worn at all times by all staff in the offices and warehouse areas.

  • Access by outside visitors is now RESTRICTED. If deliveries are required, all drivers must remain on the loading docks, with no exceptions. Anyone not employed by Artisan Farms may not proceed through any warehouse area or storage cooler area at any time. All visitors must wear a mask at the doors and remain in the outer door areas.

  • Any Vendor meeting at our location will require the approval of Head of Operations, and held in an open area, practicing physical distancing, hand sanitation, and the use of masks.

  • We have implemented these policies at our family farm partners, as well. Washing of all the cattle equipment and work clothes diligently each day is required.

Supporting Clients

  • As we are a service company, we will continue normal operations to ensure all customers are served without interruption. Communication through live calls, e-mail, and texts is continuing on a daily basis.

  • With regards to our processing partners, they have also implemented strict practices in addition to their existing CFIA health and safety requirements and have also closed their facilities to all outside visitors.

Thank you all for your continued commitment to each other, our customers, and our suppliers. We will continue to monitor the situation and continue to update our procedures and policy to reflect what is being encouraged by the various health agencies and the governments of Canada, to ensure maximum safety of our products is attained.

Thanking you again for your patience, and again to our employees, for your commitment to doing our part.

Greg Nolan, President
